Present Hero of Canada Project to the class

·         Present Hero of Canada Project

·         Make sure you are good audience members

Wednesday – Thursday

 

Students will identify a hero of Canada, explain their importance, and create an argument as to why they are the best hero of Canada.

·         Bellwork

·         Chapter 6 Mexico Collage (Chapter 6 preview)

·         Hand out Chapter 6 Packet

·         Start definitions or maps, if finished early

·         May use Friday for project as well

·         Assignment: Collage is due Friday or Monday

Friday

 

Students will present their collages to the class and explain a few of their pictures.

 

Students will identify different physical features and climate zones that are found in Mexico.

·         Bellwork

·         Hand in Mexico collage and present to the class

·         Mexico Map (physical = peninsulas, bays, gulfs, oceans, mountains, plains, plateau, and major rivers….climate = steppe, desert, tropical rainforest/savanna, highland)

·         Begin 6.1 PPT notes: “Land of Mexico” (pg. 152-157)

·         Assignment: Hand in Mexico Maps on Monday or Tuesday (depending on when project gets handed in)

Students will be working on their Taste of North America Project where they will cook something from one of the three countries we studied and connect their dish to the culture.

·         Check progress of Taste of North America project

·         Needed for Wednesday: Cultural aspect (tag board), Cookbook page, and Table Tent

·         Allow students to work on project

·         Make sure you try to make your food ahead of time

·         Make sure you have got all of your supplies

·         Hand in books

·         Assignment: Presentation of Cultural Aspect 5/17 (Wednesday) and Cooking Presentation 5/18 (Thursday)

Wednesday

 

Students will present their cultural items to the class and make sure they are ready to cook on Friday.
